DATA MIGRATION AND LOAD

When implementing a new system like P-PGI, some data existing in current systems must be transferred in this new system. The goal of data migration is to transfer existing data into the new infrastructure. Data sets must be transformed in an appropriate format to fit the new system, while preserving information stored in the old system.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF DATA MIGRATION ?

Several scenarios require migrating applications or databases :

  • acquisition of a new system

  • an update or a new version of a system

  • a change of technology for a database or an application

  • merge of two or more systems, or some similar functions

Remarks : After a merge or acquisition, redundant applications or functions are abandoned but the data they contain must generally be preserved in the remaining system for historical reasons. After a migration, it is also possible that the old and the new system need to coexist.

THE CHALLENGES OF DATA MIGRATION

Data migration is often seen as an accessory aspect to the migration of applications or systems. However, having correct data is critical to business, and there are several challenges to successfully migrate data. Everything depends on your current architecture and  infrastructure.

Migrations often involve massive amounts of data. In some cases, migration implies the history of company operations. It also implies the processing of large amounts of personal data.

In many cases, consistency must be maintained between the old and the new system after the data has been migrated. It is, for example, the case when several applications work with the same databases but are not migrated at the same time. Or when the new system is gradually implemented for users. In those cases, it is usually necessary to perform bidirectional synchronizations between the old and the new system.

According to your specific systems, we can migrate your current data to standardize them with P-PGI format.

This requires to analyze your current data formats and allows providing an estimation of the work needed. Indeed, every system is different and can vary in formats, volumes and number of migrations needed. Our experts are here to help you diagnose your systems, to define and formalize  your needs.

DATA QUALITY

Your existing data is very important, so our team can also take care of cleaning, re-formatting, and re-organizing it  in your future P-PGI system. This will allow you to benefit from the P-PGI implementation to update, correct, clean, and adapt your data when migrating it to the new system.

DIAGNOSIS

By choosing P-PGI, you trust a team of professionals able to help you with the transition of your current tool or your current data into P-PGI. To do so, our engineers can take the time to analyze your current processes while advising you the best IT & business techniques related to your business, throughout the migration.

Diagnosis is a key element for :

  • understanding your needs

  • achieving a realistic deployment schedule

  • the parameterization of our tools to your working practices

In addition, P-PGI commits itself to assist you in every preparatory steps of your migration, namely :

  • the realization of retro- and migration planning

  • the training of and assistance to the group

  • the validation of procedures

MAINTENANCE

CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE

It refers to the elimination of damage or alteration in the functioning of a material element (also called "good" or "entity" in the jargon of the specialty), by various means such as repair, restore the previous state.

The definition of the European standard is as follows: "Maintenance performed after detecting a failure and intended to deliver property in a state in which it can perform a required function".

Another distinction in the corrective maintenance takes to base the immediacy or delayed intervention, distinguishing between :

  • immediate corrective maintenance carried out immediately after the failure

  • corrective maintenance deferred, delayed according to data maintenance rules

Corrective maintenance

EVOLVING MAINTENANCE

It's a branch of the maintenance mainly discussed in terms of software maintenance. It consists of changing an application, for example as a result of user requests to change its behavior, or propose new features related to specific needs within an organization.

Edit P-PGI to make it fill the same role when the technologies with which it must interact have evolved is no evolving maintenance, but adaptive maintenance.

Evolving maintenance consists of :

  • improve (or redevelop) existing application functions

  • develop new functions to meet new requirements

Our teams are at your disposal to help you to improve our tool according to your wishes. Based on a quotation, we can help you improve your IT processes.

Evolving maintenance
All about you

IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU !

You can personalize certain elements of the P-PGI system to match your look & feel:

  • Application stylized with your colors, fonts, images, icons, labels, languages

  •  Display of your logo in the banner

  • Custom profiles and access rights

PERSONA

LIZATION

The P-PGI system can be customized as-is to answer to your specific needs.

For example :

  • background and foreground parameterization

  • adaptation of existing web modules

  • adaptation of server interfaces (API)

  • changes of the software architecture

  • modification of mobile application

  • adaptation of the open data output

  • Different sizes of  on-street displays

CUSTOM
IZATION

TAILOR -MADE

We can develop new tailor-made extensions so that P-PGI completely  fits your business.

For example :

  • Custom reports and statistics

  • Integration of new hardware

  • Specific parking management system connectors

  • Specific sensors/detectors input modules

  • Specific on-street dispay connectors

  • Interfaces with existing softwares for data exchange
